Ragnarök Cycle is an idle game for iPhone, iPad and Android, made by THINKLAB LLC (“we”). You do not need an account or a sign-in to play. This page explains in plain language what the game collects, why, and what you can turn off. In short: gameplay statistics, crash reports and, if you allow it, ad personalization. Never your name, email, contacts or location.
1. What we collect, and why
Gameplay statistics. GameAnalytics and, in the iPhone and Android apps, Google Firebase Analytics tell us how the game is played: how far players get, which systems they find, run length, ad and purchase funnels, and session length. This is gameplay data, such as the stage reached or the seeds earned, and nothing that identifies you personally.
Crash reports. Firebase Crashlytics collects crash and error reports so we can fix bugs. It stays on even if you turn off usage data (see section 6), because it is how we find out the game is broken for you. It is tied only to a crash-reporting ID, never to your gameplay statistics.
Performance. Firebase Performance measures start-up time and rendering cost, so we know where the game is slow.
Ads. Rewarded video ads, which you choose to watch (to skip a Winter or double a reward), are served by Google AdMob. In the EEA and the UK a consent form (Google’s User Messaging Platform) asks before ads load whether they may be personalized. On iPhone, Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt asks separately whether apps may track you across other companies’ apps and websites. Saying no does not stop ads, only their personalization.
Purchases. The Yggdrasil Pass, ring bundles and the Mead Hall membership are sold through the App Store and Google Play, and RevenueCat keeps track of what you own (see section 3). We never see your card details.
Your save. Your progress is stored on your own device and is not uploaded to us. Only the gameplay statistics described above leave the device.
2. Identifiers we use
- A random install ID, created on first launch and stored on your device, which groups your own gameplay events in GameAnalytics and Firebase. It identifies the install, not you.
- A Crashlytics installation ID, created by Firebase and used only to group crash reports from the same install.
- A RevenueCat anonymous user ID, which records what you have bought (for example, whether you own the Pass). It is not tied to your name or email.
- The advertising ID, read only by Google AdMob, only if you have allowed it (the EEA/UK consent form or the iPhone tracking prompt), and only to personalize or measure ads. We never read or store it ourselves.
3. Who else receives data
| Who | What they receive | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Apple / Google | Payment details and store account information, under their own privacy policies | To take payment and issue the receipt |
| RevenueCat | The store receipt, the anonymous user ID, device and app version | To confirm purchases so they survive reinstalls and new devices |
| GameAnalytics | Gameplay events with the random install ID | Gameplay statistics |
| Google (Firebase, AdMob) | Gameplay events, crash reports, performance timings; the advertising ID only with your permission | Statistics, crash fixing, performance, ads |
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone other than the services above.
4. How long data is kept
- GameAnalytics: 90 days.
- Firebase Analytics: 14 months.
- Crashlytics: 90 days.
- RevenueCat: under RevenueCat’s own retention policy.
5. Children
Ragnarök Cycle is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. Ads are configured as general-audience, not child-directed. Purchases go through the App Store and Google Play, where parents can require approval.
6. Your choices
- Usage data: the game’s settings have a “Send usage data” switch. Turning it off stops GameAnalytics, Firebase Analytics and Firebase Performance from collecting more data. Crash reports continue, as explained above.
- Ads: change ad permissions in your device’s privacy settings (iPhone: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking; Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads).
- Deleting data: uninstalling the app removes your save and the identifiers above from your device. To ask about data already sent to the services above, email us.
- Refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their own policies.
7. Reminders
If you turn on Reminders in the game’s settings, it asks your phone for permission to show notifications. They are local: your phone schedules them from your save (an expedition coming home, Autumn arriving). Nothing about them is sent to us or anyone else, and turning the switch off cancels them.
8. Changes to this policy
If a future version of the game collects anything new, this page will be updated before that version ships, and the date above will change.
